Volunteer Coordinator Location Waco, TX :
Description: The Volunteer Coordinator is an interpersonal role and is responsible for providing recruitment and daily on-site coordination of volunteers. The role requires discernment, insightful problem-solving skills, excellent time management, public speaking, team building and collaboration, and the ability to evaluate individual strengths and place volunteers in the proper roles.
Qualifications/Background:
- BA in Communications, Public Relations, or other related field preferred; HS Diploma with applicable work experience is acceptable
- Be aligned with the vision and mission of Care Net Pregnancy Center and be in full agreement with Care Net?s Principles, Purpose, and Faith Statement and the Mission and Values Statement
- Regularly attend church and be part of a faith community aligned with our Center?s Statement of Faith
- Strong interpersonal communication, public speaking, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Suite
- Highly organized, self-motivated, dependable, responsible, and able to work independently and calmly in an often highly emotional environment
- Confident communicator and problem solver
- Availability for occasional night and weekend community events
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and carry 40+ pounds up to waist high level
- Must be able to bend, stoop, crawl, walk, reach, climb on a step stool or ladder, and be sedentary or stand 50% of the time
- Must be able to hear, see, and speak in order to communicate with clients efficiently
Duties:
- Manage the volunteer calendar for the wide range of volunteer opportunities requested by the various program managers and leadership team.
- Process volunteer applications to vet volunteers and complete background checks.
- Lead volunteer training and keep all volunteers regularly informed of new Care Net policies, procedures and/or initiatives with clear expectations.
- Schedule, coordinate, and assign volunteers to appropriate departments, supervisors, and/or mentors.
- Keep all staff informed of daily volunteer lineup and ensure any holes for volunteers are filled quickly.
- Maximize opportunities with internal software for volunteer management.
- Manage planning and execution of volunteer appreciation events and keeping track of significant life events for volunteers that should be celebrated.
- Regularly communicate with partner churches and local organizations/businesses regarding volunteer needs and, where necessary, arrange presentation opportunities to church ministries interested in partnering with Care Net.
- Keep compliant volunteer files, records, applications, and other data concerning volunteers and volunteer program.
- Other duties as assigned.
