Maternal-Newborn Nurse

 

We are seeking a knowledgeable and compassionate Maternal-Newborn Nurse to provide high-quality, family-centered care to postpartum patients and their newborns. This role involves clinical expertise in maternal and infant assessment, patient education, and support during the critical postpartum period.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to postpartum patients and their newborns, including routine assessments, monitoring, and clinical interventions
  • Support mother–infant bonding and breastfeeding, offering education and assistance as needed
  • Recognize and respond promptly to signs of postpartum or neonatal complications, escalating care appropriately
  • Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, newborn care, feeding techniques, and safe sleep practices
  • Collaborate with physicians, lactation consultants, and other interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated care
  • Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in compliance with regulatory standards
  • Promote a safe, supportive, and respectful environment for diverse families during their hospital stay

Qualifications:

  • Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in maternal-newborn, postpartum, or related women’s health nursing preferred
  • Strong clinical assessment, teaching, and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to patient education and family-centered care
