Job Description

Codeworks is an IT Services firm headquartered in SE Wisconsin, known for our strong commitment to quality and for our direct client relationships.

Who We’re Looking For:

The selected Technical Writer will develop and update user-friendly documentation such as procedural manuals, instructional guides, and brochures in clear and inclusive language. This position supports technology modernization and evolving business processes.

  • Applicants must be current Wisconsin residents. Relocation is not supported for this role.
  • Occasional travel to Madison, WI may be required for in-person meetings. Remote work is available for the majority of the assignment.
  • Please include at least one writing or work sample (up to a maximum of three). Submissions without a sample will not be considered.
  • Initial Duration: 07/14/2025 to 06/30/2026 (with potential for extension)

Responsibilities:

• Translate complex procedures and policy information into accessible language for diverse audiences.

• Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and cross-functional teams to gather, organize, and document information.

• Create and update user manuals, internal process documentation, and educational brochures.

• Ensure written materials meet organizational standards for clarity, tone, and accessibility.

• Evaluate and revise existing content for relevance, usability, and consistency.

• Develop visual content (e.g., diagrams, charts) to support written materials.

• Work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in insurance, employee benefits administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical writing, including development of documentation for varied audiences.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Comfortable working independently and demonstrating initiative.
  • Aptitude for quickly learning complex topics and simplifying them for broad understanding.
  • Experience reviewing and editing content created by others.
  • Collaborative approach to working with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with plain language standards and principles.

Codeworks, LLC discloses that the anticipated hourly pay range for this position is between $27 and $30. This range is subject to change based on job-related factors, including client requirements where applicable.
