What You’ll Do As a Tax Practitioner , you will: Advocate for Clients – Represent small businesses and business entities before the IRS and state tax agencies, resolving complex tax disputes, audits, and collections. Develop Winning Strategies – Analyze financials, tax returns, and business operations to create customized tax resolution plans, including Installment Agreements, Offers in Compromise, Penalty Abatement, and Trust Fund Recovery strategies. Negotiate Settlements – Engage directly with IRS officers, revenue agents, and state tax representatives to negotiate favorable outcomes for business clients. Ensure Compliance – Guide clients in achieving and maintaining tax compliance, reducing future tax risks. Lead Client Communication – Clearly explain tax resolution options, timelines, and expected outcomes, ensuring transparency and trust. Stay Ahead of Tax Laws – Continuously research evolving tax codes, policies, and enforcement trends that impact business taxpayers. What You Bring To succeed in this role, you should have: Credentials: Active Enrolled Agent (EA) or licensed Attorney with the ability to represent taxpayers before the IRS. Experience: At least 3+ years handling BUSINESS tax resolution, IRS collections, or tax controversy matters. Expertise: Strong knowledge of IRS enforcement actions, business tax obligations (payroll tax, corporate income tax, sales tax), and resolution programs. Problem-Solving Mindset: Ability to assess tax liabilities, explore legal avenues, and develop tailored solutions for businesses. Negotiation & Advocacy Skills: Confidently advocate for business clients in high-stakes negotiations with tax authorities. Communication Excellence: Ability to simplify complex tax issues and deliver clear, actionable advice to business owners.
