We specialize in structural steel, stairs and railings, and custom job shop projects throughout the Greater Boston area and New England. Known for our reputation for reliability, speed, and craftsmanship, were growing our team with the addition of a Structural Steel Estimator to help us win and deliver high-quality projects more efficiently.Position Summary:Were looking for a detail-driven and experienced Estimator to lead our bidding process for structural and miscellaneous metals projects. Youll play a key role in helping us identify good-fit opportunities, develop competitive estimates, and ensure the right scope and pricing are in place from the start.The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of steel fabrication and erection, can read drawings fluently, and is comfortable working with General Contractors, vendors, and our internal team. This role reports directly to ownership and is essential to the continued growth of the business.Key Responsibilities:Work with senior estimators to learn how the business currently estimates and wins jobsReview bid invitations and determine project fitRead and interpret architectural and structural drawings, specifications, and addendaPerform accurate takeoffs for structural steel, miscellaneous metals, and connection materialsSolicit and evaluate vendor pricing (galvanizing, erection, detailing, etc.)Develop and submit timely, competitive bidsCollaborate with project management and fabrication teams to review awarded scopesMaintain estimating templates, pricing databases, and historical cost recordsAssist in developing budgets and conceptual estimates as neededQualifications:35+ years of experience estimating structural and miscellaneous steel projectsStrong understanding of steel fabrication, detailing, and erection practicesAbility to read and interpret plans, specs, and shop drawings with precisionFamiliarity with AISC standards and steel industry practicesProficient in Excel; experience with Bluebeam or estimating software preferredComfortable working under deadlines and managing multiple bids at onceStrong communication skills for interfacing with GCs, vendors, and internal teamsPreferred (Not Required):Experience with FabSuite/STRUMIS, Tekla EPM, or similar platformsField or shop experience in a steel-related roleExisting relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and New England GCsCompensation & Benefits:Salary: $75,000$95,000, based on experiencePerformance bonuses tied to awarded projects that meet target profit margins401(k) with company matchHealth, dental, and disability insurancePaid time offEmployee assistance programLong-term growth opportunities in a growing companyHow to Apply:If youre a sharp estimator who understands the ins and outs of structural steeland you're looking to be part of a tight-knit, high-performing teamapply today.
