Job Title: Steel Estimator | Structural Fabrication | Commercial & Industrial Projects

Location: Lynchburg, Virginia

Salary: $70,000 - $120,000 + Performance Bonuses + Full Benefits Package

Are you a detail-oriented Estimator with a passion for large-scale steel projects? A top-rated, AISC-certified fabricator, is seeking a skilled professional to lead cost estimation for complex structural steel and industrial construction projects across the Mid-Atlantic.

In this high-impact role, you will be the key driver behind our competitive bids for landmark warehouses, manufacturing plants, and commercial developments. You'll leverage your expertise to ensure precision, manage vendor relationships, and contribute directly to our company's growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end estimating and bid preparation for high-value structural steel projects, from initial takeoff to final proposal submission.
• Analyze project specifications, blueprints, and shop drawings to prepare detailed estimates for materials, labor, and equipment using Tekla, Bluebeam, and AutoCAD.
• Collaborate with Project Management, Engineering, and Procurement teams to validate costs, ensure constructability, and mitigate risks.
• Manage and negotiate subcontractor and vendor quotes to secure competitive pricing while maintaining quality and compliance with AISC, AWS D1.1, and OSHA standards.
• Utilize historical data and market trend analysis to continuously improve estimating accuracy and strategy.

Qualifications (Ideal Profile):

• 4+ years of experience as an Estimator within structural steel fabrication or heavy commercial construction.
• Proven ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings, with a deep understanding of fabrication processes and erection sequencing.
• Technical Proficiency: Highly skilled in industry-standard software (Tekla, Bluebeam, and/or AutoCAD is required).
• Strong knowledge of industry standards (AISC, AWS, OSHA).
• A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Exceptional analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
