SIGINT Flight Engineer

KBR's National Security Solutions team provides high-end engineering and advanced technology solutions to our customers in the intelligence and national security communities. In this position, your work will have a profound impact on the country's most critical role protecting our national security.

KBR is seeking a SIGINT Flight Engineer to join an elite team in Aurora, CO providing Systems Engineering and Technical Advisory (SETA) services focused on SIGINT collection systems and systems engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent the government in executing spacecraft integration, test, launch, and on-orbit operations.
  • Conduct anomaly support, launch and mission readiness, and end-to-end space systems architecture analysis.
  • Maintain close communications with the program acquisition office and customer engineering organizations providing recommendations on risk level of spacecraft activities.
  • Oversee day-to-day execution of mission operations and processes to ensure proper attention to health, safety, and effective use of national resources.
  • Provide launch and mission readiness subject matter expertise to operations and engineering including readiness for launch, spacecraft initialization, and transition to mission.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) or relevant field and nine (9) years or more experience; Master's Degree in STEM or relevant field and seven (7) years or more experience.
  • Experience in spacecraft, payload, and launch vehicle engineering as well as mission readiness process, control gates, and associated entry/exit criteria.
  • SIGINT systems engineering expertise, and significant space and ground systems domain knowledge.
  • Technical familiarity with SIGINT system's payloads, subsystems, and technical capabilities.
  • Self-starter, proactively addresses customer requirements with no supervision; readily defines solutions for broad, abstract topics.
  • Polished communicator (written/verbal); impeccable interpersonal skills and personal judgment.

Desired:

  • Real-time operations experience as a spacecraft operator or spacecraft engineer, familiar with space operations/policies.
  • 4-years' experience in initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and/or closing DoD or Intelligence Community projects or programs.
  • Familiar with Digital Engineering/Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and associated tools, Agile development, cloud technologies.
  • Contract management/COTR support experience.
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence.
