Veselka Williamsburg is seeking a part-time server to join our team as we head into our busy season.

DESCRIPTION: 

As a Server, you play a crucial role in ensuring a positive dining experience for our guests while being an important part of the operation.The ideal candidate will be dedicated, ambitious and seeking opportunities to grow their career. At Veselka, Servers are hardworking and friendly, operate in a quick and efficient manner with a passion to accommodate the needs of the restaurant’s guests.

The position’s core functions will include greeting guests and taking their orders, ensuring guests have a great experience by serving food and drinks in a timely and friendly manner as well as helping guests with their needs during service.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Welcoming guests;
• Offering menu assistance and getting guests familiar with specials;
• Taking guests food and beverage orders;
• Delivering food and beverage orders in a timely manner;
• Checking back with guests regarding their needs and experience during service;
• Taking payments at the end of service;
• Removing tableware such as dishes, glasses and utensils to keep tables from becoming too crowded;
• Assisting with the tidying of tables, clearing leftovers and keeping the dining area neat and pleasant;
• Refilling water, coffee, and hot water during service hours;
• Cleaning any spills in the dining area if needed;
• Making sure that opening and closing shift side work is done;
• Following food handling regulations and other guidelines to increase guest safety;
• Making sure that all operational duties and tasks are completed in a timely manner;
• Streamlining the restaurant processes to improve guest experience.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to understand and clearly communicate with guests;
• Experience in the hospitality industry with a background in food service;
• Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks at once;

• Strong communication skills working in a team environment;
• Ability to tolerate stress and work in fast-paced environment;
• Ability to stand and work during long hours;
• Knowledge of food production and service, including safe storage practices;
• Organization skills and attention to detail;
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs;
• Must be available to work different shifts, weekends and holidays.
