KPMG is seeking a Senior Manager to join our State and Local Tax (SALT) practice.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide excellent client service to multi-state companies with state and local sales/use tax issues, including reverse audits, compliance, tax planning, automation technology, research and writing, multi-jurisdictional reporting, and controversies/audit defense.
  2. Partner with multi-state companies in analyzing state tax considerations/impacts related to business restructuring projects and intercompany transactions.
  3. Work with multi-state companies in SALT controversies, including preparing clients for discussions with auditors, representing clients at hearings and appeals, and preparing protests.
  4. Supervise, mentor, and develop staff members.
  5. Participate in business development, management, and delivery of SALT services.

Qualifications:

  1. Minimum eight years of recent experience in providing tax research and technical advice on multi-state issues.
  2. Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution; licensed CPA, EA, JD/LLM, MST, or CMI designation; candidates have one year from hire to obtain approved credentials if not already possessed.
  3. Strong knowledge of sales and transactions tax refund claims development, planning, and execution.
  4. Experience with other corporate taxes and their impact on sales tax.
