Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Purchasing Supervisor, the Senior Buyer - North America is responsible for purchased items sourced from USA, Canada, & MX. This role assures that proper controls are in place to ensure appropriate purchasing practices are maintained to service customers. The Senior Buyer - North America is responsible for assuring the purchase of quality and cost-effective products and services. This position controls inventory levels, purchase price variances, inventory turns and on time delivery. The Senior Buyer - North America also maintains and updates the necessary systems and processes currently in place.
Essential Functions: \n - Perform North America purchasing including USA, Canada, & MX
\n - Perform MRP purchasing and forecast analysis
\n - Buying limit $15000
\n - Use target inventory reports to assist in determining order quantities.
\n - Evaluate vendors.
\n - Negotiate costs.
\n - Control purchase price variance.
\n - Control inventory levels to achieve desired turns.
\n - Oversee response to expedites.
\n - Review past due orders.
\n - Coordinate request for quotes.
\n - Continuous improvement of Forecast Vs Actual demands
\n - Purchase items assigned on a timely basis.
\n - Assist in maintaining HellermannTyton' s IATF16949/ISO14001 certification by supporting corporate policies, procedures, work instructions and required documentation.
\n - Recommend improvements and implement upon approval.

Other duties assigned: \n - May assist in Quality System documentation and revisions.
\n - Make recommendations toward continuous improvement.
\n - Participate in company-wide training programs directly related to purchasing techniques.
\n - Train and assist as needed.
\n - Obtain MSDS sheets, NAFTA, and other related documents that pertain to materials
\n - Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications: \n - Associates degree required.
\n - 5-7 years' experience in the purchasing field, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
\n - Knowledge and understanding of purchasing practices.
\n - MRP buying knowledge.
\n - Proficient with Microsoft products and ERP systems.
\n - CPM certification preferred.
\n - International buying experience preferred.
\n - Must have a valid driver's license, with an acceptable driving record, along with adequate insurance.
