Department/Unit Summary  

The  Medical Surgical Unit  at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital embodies a culture of teamwork and effective communication, essential for providing specialized care to critically ill patients. This 33-bed unit operates within a trauma III hospital setting, ensuring patients receive optimal medical attention and support.

  • 5-6 Patient Ratio (Days)

Qualifications and requirements

Applicants should have a current state RN license or a current multistate compact license and possess an associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited nursing school. 

 

Additional requirements include:

  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification (or) obtained within 90 days after hire date.
  • Current American Heart Association ACLS certification or obtain within 6 months after hire date.
  • Successfully pass an arrhythmia exam within 90 days after hire date.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
