Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Regional Support Nurse Consultant to join our team. This position plays a crucial role in bolstering the quality and effectiveness of nursing services across our facilities through both direct and consultative care. The ideal candidate will be a versatile nursing professional capable of adapting to various healthcare environments and effectively addressing the unique challenges faced by each facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide onsite nursing consultation and strategic guidance to multiple long-term care facilities within the region.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of nursing practices and patient care standards at each facility, identifying areas for improvement and implementing best practices.
  • Serve as an interim DON, ADON, RN Supervisor or staff nurse as needed, demonstrating exceptional clinical skills and patient care.
  • Collaborate with VP of Clinical and facility management to develop and refine nursing policies and procedures.
  • Facilitate training and development sessions for nursing staff, focusing on skill enhancement, regulatory compliance, and the adoption of new healthcare technologies or methodologies.
  • Assist in the management of critical incidents and provide expert advice on complex healthcare cases.
  • Ensure compliance with state health and safety regulations at each facility.
  • Maintain accurate records of facility visits, consultations provided, and outcomes achieved.
  • Serve as a liaison between facility staff and the broader healthcare management team, ensuring effective communication and alignment with organizational goals.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Texas, with a BSN preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a regional capacity within long-term care or a related healthcare setting.
  • Strong clinical skills with the ability to perform in diverse nursing roles and settings.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Proven ability to lead, train, and inspire nursing staff.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of effectively interacting with all levels of staff and management.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across the region as required.
