Job Description

Join a globally recognized aerospace and defense leader delivering mission-critical RF and microwave solutions for space, defense, and high-reliability systems. They are seeking an experienced RF Design Manager to lead the development of cutting-edge RF, Microwave, and mmW Integrated Microwave Assemblies (IMAs) from concept through production.

RF Design Manager Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive end-to-end systems analysis and modeling, including cascade analysis of RF up/down converters.
  • Lead the design and development of RF and mixed-signal communication hardware from VHF through millimeter-wave.
  • Oversee prototype testing and characterization in lab environments; present design results and lead design reviews.
  • Perform filter modeling, analysis, and design for flight-grade systems.
  • Manage system integration and test of advanced RF/millimeter-wave communications hardware for spaceflight.
  • Act as the technical interface for customer engagements, specification development, and proposal support.
  • Collaborate with business development, production, supply chain, and engineering teams across the organization.
  • Guide and mentor a team of RF engineers while maintaining hands-on involvement in critical design tasks.

RF Design Manager Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; Master’s or PhD preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in RF/microwave/mmW component design and system architecture.
  • 2+ years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • Strong background in RF communications hardware including synthesizers, mixers, VCOs, PLLs, filters, and amplifiers operating through 40+ GHz.
  • Proficiency with tools such as Gensys, ADS, AWR, HFSS, MATLAB, and AutoCAD.
  • Deep understanding of complex communication systems, system-level design, and signal chain optimization.
  • Experience delivering high-reliability hardware for defense, aerospace, or spaceflight applications.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and leadership skills.
