Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Plant Controller to oversee financial operations within our manufacturing facility in South Kansas City, Missouri. This role requires a strong background in cost accounting and financial management, with an emphasis on optimizing processes and ensuring compliance with financial standards. The ideal candidate will bring strategic insight to drive efficiency and support decision-making across the organization.
Responsibilities:
• Manage and oversee all aspects of manufacturing cost accounting, including tracking and analyzing production costs.
• Implement and maintain standard cost accounting practices to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Lead month-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and improve operational efficiency.
• Monitor and analyze variances in production costs and recommend corrective actions to improve profitability.
• Ensure compliance with corporate financial policies and regulatory standards.
• Prepare detailed financial reports and forecasts to support strategic decision-making.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost-saving initiatives within the plant.
• Act as a liaison between the finance department and plant operations to ensure alignment on financial goals.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in manufacturing cost accounting or related financial roles.
• Expertise in cost accounting and standard cost accounting methodologies.
• Proficiency in managing month-end close processes and financial reporting.
• Familiarity with ERP systems, such as JDE or SAP
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Solid understanding of manufacturing operations and their financial implications.
