Paralegal - Criminal Defense Law Firm

Our well-established criminal defense law firm, comprised of four experienced attorneys, is
seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented full-time Paralegal to join our team. The successful
candidate will play a key role in supporting our attorneys in drafting, reviewing, and
electronically filing pleadings related to pre-trial litigation and the trial of criminal defense
cases. The successful candidate will also assist the lawyers manage referral sources and
referred cases, as well as ongoing law practice related projects.

Key Responsibilities
• Draft criminal defense pleadings using templates and samples from the firm's prior
electronic case files. Researching legal issues related to ongoing criminal defense cases.
• Answer incoming calls, route them to the appropriate attorney or staff member, and input
information into the firm's client lead and client information systems.
• Assist the attorneys with calendaring, scheduling, and various administrative and projectbased
tasks.
• Provide occasional support on small personal injury matters, as needed.

Required Qualifications
• Proven experience as a paralegal, legal assistant, or in a related role within a law firm
environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, Excel, and other law practice management
software. Experience doing legal research using Westlaw.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High level of professionalism and confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
• Familiarity with handling small personal injury cases.
• Prior experience supporting attorneys with project management and scheduling.
