Automotive Technicians use their skills to diagnose, fix and prepare vehicles for customers, including repairing engines, adjusting steering and suspension, and checking brakes. The role involves working as part of a skilled team in a clean, modern, climate-controlled environment. Responsibilities include diagnosing, reconditioning, and repairing vehicles to ensure customer safety and satisfaction, solving technical problems quickly, building experience across a wide range of domestic and foreign vehicles, and promoting high standards of safety, cleanliness, and organization. The job requires motivation, teamwork, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. CarMax supports associates with equipment, feedback, and training for skill development and accreditations. Qualifications include experience in engine repair, steering and suspension, brakes, heating and air conditioning, knowledge of health and safety compliance, manual dexterity, physical stamina, good communication skills, and a valid driver’s license. ASE Certifications may be required depending on state/local law.
