Medina, OH mill seeking a reliable worker for 2 nd shift (4p-2a) to fill the role of Crane Operator
Experience with Steel, Metal, Coils, etc. highly preferred!
$19-21/hr to start – Monday through Friday 10 hour shifts
10 hours of built-in OT each week!

JOB TITLE : Crane Operator
REPORTS TO : Plant Manager
JOB PURPOSE : Operate mechanical bridge or jib cranes to lift and move materials, machines, or products in many directions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
. Lift, band, and move materials from mill to storage area.
. Assist with mill set ups and changeovers.
· Assist cut-off operator during production.
· Move and stage material for finishing department.
· Examine shipping package and load material on trucks based on packing list specifications. Responsible for determining the positioning and blocking requirements on the truck to ensure the material does not shift. Coordinate with truck drivers the proper placement of load on truck.
· Ensure material is properly covered before truck leaves the plant.
· Initial shipping package slip and return to front office.
· Inspect and report concerns regarding crane mechanisms or lifting accessories to prevent malfunctions or damage.
· Clean, lubricate, and maintain mechanisms such as cables, pulleys, or grappling devices, and report necessary repairs.
· Load trucks with tow motors as necessary.
· Assist the finishing and slitting departments as necessary.
· Coordinate scrap hopper pick-up and complete related paperwork.
· Perform all other related duties as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
· 1-3 years’ experience as a Crane Operator
· Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
· Works well independently with good decision-making skills
