Job Title: Network Engineer Edge Networking | W2 CONTRACT ROLE

Location: Harrisburg, PA (Hybrid)

Type: W2 Contract

Important Requirements

• Candidate must currently reside within the Greater Harrisburg, PA Area (Pennsylvania residency requirement).
• Telework available , but frequent on-site work in Harrisburg is required.
• Candidates living more than 1 hour from Harrisburg will NOT be considered .
• First-round interviews will be conducted via Microsoft Teams.

Position Purpose

This role supports the Edge Networking Team , managing and supporting edge networks for multiple state agencies. The candidate will assist with planning, designing, maintaining, and integrating LAN/WAN infrastructure across .

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, and manage network infrastructure including:
• switches, routers, firewalls, SD-WAN edge appliances, wireless & cellular devices.
• Perform network monitoring, testing, troubleshooting, and problem resolution using industry tools.
• Assist in planning & designing LAN/WAN architectures, bandwidth analysis, capacity planning, and network schematics.
• Support deployments, upgrades, and change-management processes.
• Participate in ServiceNow/Remedy ticket handling and ensure proper documentation.
• Provide Tier 2 support for critical network incidents and widespread outages.
• Evaluate new technologies and recommend upgrades during hardware refresh cycles.
• Ensure all network designs meet OA security standards.
• Create and maintain documentation, including Visio diagrams and configuration records.
• Support agency operations, remote IT staff, and business partners.
• Maintain knowledge of routing protocols, network monitoring tools, and automation.
