  • Hourly pay: $35/hr
  • Worksite: Leading digital streaming network (New York, NY 10036 - Hybrid, Must be onsite on Tuesdays)
  • W2 Employment, Group Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Retirement Savings Program, PSL
  • 40 hours/week, 9 Month Assignment

A leading digital streaming network seeks a Licensing Compliance Consultant . The successful candidate will focus primarily on collections and royalty-related duties.

Licensing Compliance Consultant Responsibilities:

  • Principal Responsibilities – Royalty Compliance:
    • Review contracts for financial terms and compare to royalty statements, checking for compliance.
    • Tracing financials through a contract’s life cycle to identify and resolve discrepancies.
    • Troubleshoot access issues when licensees are not able to access our system and finance, and offshore royalty reporting teams.
  • Principal Responsibilities – Cash Collections/Compliance:
    • Reach out to licensees (customers) to collect/resolve open AR balances and royalty compliance issues.
    • Monitor cash expected from licenses to ensure they are received in a timely manner.
    • Point person for all withholding tax certificates, ensuring they are received and sent to Viacom tax.
    • Assist the cash application team in resolving unapplied payments.

Licensing Compliance Consultant Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of relevant global licensing industry work experience.
  • B.A., B.S. in Business or Finance.
  • Royalties experience in the music/publishing/media arena is a plus.
  • Royalty and experience/knowledge in cash collections.
  • Experience in operations finance, accounting, and operations management preferred.
  • Strong understanding of General Accounting Principles (royalty accounting is a plus).
  • Strong ability to trace an issue to find its root cause and final impact.
  • Strong ability to understand and interpret contracts.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to provide creative solutions to complex problems.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to see the big picture and work on cross-divisional projects with many stakeholders.
  • Ability to multitask and manage diverse projects and assignments.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively (i.e. leader as well as team player).
