Job Title: Junior PLC Engineer

Location: Mason, OH (Extensive Travel Required)

Employment Type: Full-Time, Contract 6 Months

Role Overview

BEPC is seeking a motivated Junior PLC Engineer to assist in the commissioning and testing of advanced automated material handling systems, including high-speed sortation, scanning, and merging technologies. This opportunity is ideal for early-career engineers looking to gain extensive field experience in a dynamic, travel-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in PLC programming and HMI screen development.
• Support on-site system commissioning and testing.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
• Draft QA/QC documentation and test protocols.
• Contribute to Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and post-installation troubleshooting.
• Help train client personnel and offer technical support post-deployment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Up to 2 years of hands-on experience in controls engineering or relevant material handling systems.
• Familiarity with Allen-Bradley PLCs and HMI platforms such as Wonderware Aveva Edge.
• Interest in post and parcel automation systems is advantageous.

Technical Skills (Preferred)

• PLC & HMI Tools: Allen-Bradley, Beckhoff, Wonderware Aveva Edge, FactoryTalk View
• Hardware & Interfaces: VFDs, Cognex/SICK scanners, machine vision
• Software: Studio 5000, RSLinx, AutoCAD Electrical, B&R Automation Studio
• Networking & Comms: Ethernet/IP, Profibus, WCS integration
• Additional Tools: Ignition, SOPAS, SST Profibus Config Tool, Datalogic DataMan

Soft Skills

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Detail-oriented with good documentation practices.
• Highly adaptable with a strong willingness to travel and work in diverse environments.

Contract Details

• Pay Rate: $35–$40/hr (based on experience)
• Schedule: Typically 8 AM–5 PM; project demands may extend hours to 60/week.
• Location: Mason, OH when not traveling; flexibility may be considered.
• Travel: Required ~90% of the time.
• Start Date: Immediate
• Timekeeping: Managed via SAP Fieldglass
• Interview Format: Microsoft Teams Video
