Overview:

Bolongo Bay Beach Resort is located on the serene island of St. Thomas in the United States Virgin Islands and is a family-owned and managed beach resort nestled in a beautiful sandy bay along the Caribbean Sea. Position Summary:

Bolongo Bay Beach Resort is seeking an energetic and skilled Iggies-Bartender to join our dynamic team at our all-inclusive resort. The Bartender is responsible for crafting and serving beverages to guests while providing outstanding hospitality in a fast-paced environment. This role requires strong knowledge of mixology, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a high-volume setting.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to resort standards and recipes.
  • Ensure drinks are consistently presented, properly garnished, and served at the correct temperature.
  • Operate blenders, shakers, and other bar equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Greet guests warmly, take orders, and provide recommendations based on preferences.
  • Create a fun and engaging atmosphere while maintaining professionalism.
  • Ensure guests have a positive and memorable experience by providing prompt and friendly service.
  • Monitor and restock bar supplies, including liquor, beer, wine, mixers, and garnishes.
  • Track beverage inventory levels and report shortages to management.
  • Follow proper storage and handling procedures to maintain product quality.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar area at all times.
  • Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines, including proper handling of glassware and tools.
  • Adhere to local alcohol service laws and resort policies, checking guest IDs when necessary.
  • Process payments accurately and efficiently using resort POS systems.
  • Maintain accurate cash and credit card transactions, following proper procedures.
  • Report any discrepancies, concerns, or issues to management.
  • Participate in resort-themed events, poolside service, and special functions as needed.

Education & Experience:

  • 1 year of bartending, preferably in an all-inclusive resort or high-volume setting.
  • High School or equivalent education required

Skills & Abilities:

  • Friendly and outgoing personality with excellent communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of classic and modern cocktails, beer, wine, and spirits.
  • Ability to prepare and serve drinks consistently according to brand standards.
