Position Title: Human Resources Generalist - Contract

Wage: Based on Experience

Our Mount Pleasant, WI manufacturing client is looking for a HR Generalist to cover for a leave of absence. They are looking for a well-rounded HR Generalist to support a variety of essential HR functions. This position plays a key role in delivering an excellent employee experience, ensuring compliance with HR policies and labor laws, and providing hands-on support in areas such as payroll, benefits, recruitment, employee relations, training, and performance management. Full onboarding and training with current HR Generalist for several weeks will be provided prior to her leave to allow for a smooth transition. The position is targeted to end by June 1, 2026. This is a fully onsite role with hours of 7:30am to 4:00pm or 8:00am to 4:30pm M-F.

Human Resources Generalist Responsibilities:
- Act as a point of contact for employees regarding HR policies, workplace questions and concerns
- Support employee relations and promote a positive work culture
- Assist with full-cycle recruiting including job postings, screening, interview coordination and hiring
- Facilitate onboarding and orientation for new team members
- Administer and support employee benefits, including enrollments and changes
- Process payroll accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring data integrity and compliance
- Review timecards, paid time off (PTO) requests and deductions
- Address and resolve payroll and benefits-related inquiries
- Coordinate employee training programs and track participation
- Help manage performance review cycles, goal-setting and coaching initiatives
- Assist with employee development plans and performance improvement processes
- Ensure compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and company policies
- Maintain accurate employee records and support HR data reporting and audits
- Identify process improvements and contribute to HR initiatives and projects

Requirements for Human Resources Generalist:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field preferred
- 2+ years of experience in an HR Generalist or HR Coordinator role
- Previous experience with payroll processing and HRIS/payroll systems
- Strong understanding of HR practices, benefits and employment laws
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with HRIS platforms such as ADP, Workday, or Paylocity is a plus
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
