Salary:
The Hospers Campus Pastor has primary responsibility for the oversight and shepherding of the Trinity Hospers campus and the people who worship there. The goal of this oversight and shepherding is to foster a culture that draws people into a life changing relationship with Jesus Christ, builds authentic community, and has Jesus followers actively involved in service to him. Primary work is preaching and overseeing worship gathering, providing discipleship opportunities, and acting as the liaison to the larger community in which the facility is located.
The Campus Pastors leadership will come from:
- A personal commitment to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
- A mature faith and steadfast character.
- A reliance on the authority of Scripture and prayer.
- A sense of calling to an equipping of the saints.
Core Function This Campus Pastor will live out their discipleship to Jesus Christ by working with the leadership of Trinity Church to implement the mission and values of our church:
Mission: Connect people to God, others, and Gods work in the world.
Values: Gospel centered, Biblical/vibrant worship, openness to change, missional engagement, growing in community, hospitality.
Qualifications
- Meet the qualifications for leadership as an elder/pastor
- Possess effective discipleship, leadership, and equipping skills
- Possess a passion for people
- Have successful experience in the leadership of others to accomplish a common purpose
- Be committed to Trinity Churchs mission and values within the context of a multi-site church model.
Key Roles
- Is a regular preaching voice, administers the sacraments at the campus, and provides a consistent presence to those attending worship services that enhances the possibility of connecting people into the body.
- Along with the Elders, provides pastoral care at the campus.
- Officiates weddings and funerals as requested.
- Oversees and leads Campus Staff (worship, childrens, youth, administration, etc. as applicable).
- Leads the Campus Consistory.
- Sets a leadership tone that creates an open community that is real and authentic.
- Provides care for the facility, its workers, and volunteers in ministry.
- Has regular contact with the central staff as it affects the Hospers campus.
- Integrates and evaluates standards of excellence in local campus ministries.
- Acts as a catalyst for new initiatives in support of Trinitys vision and values.
- Reaches out to those in the church community to facilitate and encourage spiritual growth.
- Acts as Trinitys liaison to the larger community in which the local campus is located. This includes local government, schools, and community organizations.
- Performs other tasks as assigned or needed related to the campus operations or the church as a whole.
Other Trinity Responsibilities
- Given the current size of the Hospers campus, we believe that the Hospers campus responsibilities do not constitute a full time 40 a week position. At our current campus size we imagine the campus pastor also adding to the broader mission of Trinity in some significant way (possibly 5-10 hours per week). These responsibilities will be based on the gifts and passions of the Campus Pastor and will be chosen from areas like pastoral care, community engagement, leadership of a specific ministry (men's, women's, young adult, Hispanic), or in a different area based on the gifts and passions of the campus pastor.
Time Commitment
- There is an expectation that the pastor will be at the Orange City office on Tuesdays for staff meetings and at Leadership Team and dual campus Consistory meetings.
- We also are open to a part time person in this role if they are focusing solely on the Hospers campus pastor position.
Accountability
- Accountable to the Lead Pastor, and Leadership Team for the effective implementation of the position description and any other duties as developed.
- Accountable to the Biblical standards of behavior and decorum of those involved in church leadership.
