Oshkosh AeroTech is a leading provider of aviation ground support products, gate equipment and airport services to commercial airlines, airports, air-freight carriers, ground handling and military customers. The General Maintenance Technician is responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and assisting trade technicians with maintenance of passenger boarding bridges, related equipment, and general facility maintenance. The role includes providing detailed maintenance data input into the CMMS system, responding to and correcting facility, equipment, or system issues, and operating equipment such as golf carts, company vehicles, and forklifts. Compliance with company safety programs and trainings is required. Other duties may be assigned as needed. Requirements include a High School diploma or GED equivalent, a valid Driver’s License, 1-3 years of related experience in equipment maintenance and operations, familiarity with airport operations is a plus, mechanical skills including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of passenger boarding bridges, computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, basic understanding of PLC Control systems, ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics, ability to be badged to work in secure airport areas, and flexibility to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shifts including weekends and holidays. Physical demands include regular standing, walking, use of hands, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, hearing, lifting/moving up to 70 pounds, and operating hand trucks, forklifts, tugs, and lift trucks. The work environment is similar to airport operations with vehicular traffic, exposure to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, and loud noise levels.
