About the Role

The Company is seeking a General Counsel for US Litigation, Regulatory Enforcement, and Investigations, who will also serve as the Deputy Head of Global Investigations. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing all contentious litigation, regulatory enforcement, and investigations in the United States, with a focus on achieving the best possible outcomes for the organization. This role requires providing expert legal and strategic advice to the Board of Directors and senior management on matters of significant legal and reputational risk. The General Counsel will also be involved in setting and ensuring the execution of relevant policies and procedures, as well as leading a team of legal professionals. Applicants for this role at The Company should be US-qualified lawyers with a minimum of 15 years' experience in handling contentious matters across multiple jurisdictions. Practical experience with various criminal and regulatory authorities is essential, and prior government experience in enforcement is a plus. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in global financial institutions, including banking products, securities, and derivatives, and a proven track record in handling enforcement investigations. Familiarity with a range of laws, including banking and securities, anti-fraud, market abuse, and competition laws, is required. The role demands a leader with excellent communication, networking, and management skills, who can influence senior executives and effectively lead a team of legal professionals.
