Game Development & Design Internship – Interactive Shooting Simulation

Type: Internship

Duration: 3-6 months

Compensation: This is an unpaid internship designed to provide hands-on industry experience, portfolio-building projects, mentorship in game development and may be eligible for academic credit.

About Us

Tactical Affairs is redefining the shooting range experience with interactive, gamified simulations—think Topgolf, but for shooting sports! Using advanced game technology, we’re creating immersive, skill-based challenges with simulated firearms and real-time feedback.

We’re seeking talented game designers, developers, artists, and audio specialists to help build our interactive shooting simulation experiences. Whether you’re passionate about coding, designing game mechanics, creating stunning visuals, or crafting immersive soundscapes, we’d love to hear from you!

What You’ll Do

Depending on your skills and interests, you’ll contribute in one or more of the following areas:

Game Development (Unity)

  • Develop gameplay mechanics, physics interactions, and UI systems
  • Implement networked multiplayer components
  • Optimize performance for large interactive displays

Game Art & Asset Creation

  • Design environments, weapons, characters, and UI elements
  • Create 3D models, textures, and animations optimized for real-time rendering
  • Work with shaders and lighting to enhance visual fidelity

Game Design & User Experience

  • Conceptualize and prototype engaging shooting challenges and game modes
  • Balance gameplay mechanics for fun and replay ability
  • Create wireframes and documentation for game flows and interactions

Audio Design & Sound Effects

  • Design immersive gunfire, reloading, and impact sounds
  • Develop dynamic audio systems that respond to gameplay
  • Work on voiceovers, music, and environmental soundscapes

Preferred Skills & Experience:

Game Developers – Unity, C#, physics-based interactions, networking

Game Designers – UX/UI, level design, game balancing, wireframing

Artists – 2D/3D asset creation, animation, shaders, visual polish

Audio Designers – Sound design, music composition, audio implementation
