This is a physically demanding, fast-paced job involving independent or team-based work to hand-build quality upholstered furniture. Drive, urgency, and self-motivation are needed to meet daily production goals. The role requires standing for long periods, lifting and moving at least 50 lbs, and using hands to grip, pull, and handle materials. Comfort with power tools, framing, and staple guns is essential. Job responsibilities include working in a team atmosphere, performing any position within the cell as needed, proper use of Kan Ban containers, upholstering tasks such as knocking down sharp corners of frame, using staple gun, hammer, staple puller, and additional air tools. Frame tasks include use of frame gun, glue/wax application, and additional air tools. Cushion process involves validating unit cover, coordinating workflow, inserting stuffing materials, sealing and quilting, and stapling. Final assembly includes assembling components, oiling mechanisms, scanning tickets, and packaging tasks such as stapling, banding, taping, and moving units. Job requirements include equivalent combination of education and experience, basic reading and writing skills, completion of in-house training, basic computer skills, strong coordination, ability to stand up to 10 hours per day with frequent bending, twisting, reaching, capacity to push, pull, lift minimum 50 lbs, and skilled use of hands. No supervisory responsibilities. Physical demands include standing on hard surfaces, bending, twisting, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, and skilled hand use.
