Job Description

Dual Licensed Funeral Director & Embalmer

Location: Northern Virginia | Full-Time

Are you a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer with a heart for service and a talent for guiding families through life’s most tender moments? We’re looking for an experienced, compassionate professional to join our dedicated team in beautiful Northern Virginia—where tradition meets innovation, and every life is honored with dignity and care.

About the Role:

As a Dual Licensed Funeral Director & Embalmer, you’ll do more than oversee arrangements—you’ll help families find comfort, healing, and meaning in a time of loss. From the first call to final farewell, your empathy, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence will shine through.

This is a full-time position ideal for someone who thrives in a meaningful profession, values personal connection, and brings both professionalism and heart to everything they do.

What You’ll Do:

  • Gently guide families through the funeral planning process with compassion, clarity, and sensitivity
  • Coordinate and direct all aspects of funeral services, memorials, visitations, and graveside ceremonies
  • Prepare viewing and services using best-in-class embalming and restorative techniques
  • Ensure all legal documents, permits, and records are completed with precision and timeliness
  • Collaborate closely with your team to uphold the highest standards of care, cleanliness, and service

What We’re Looking For:

  • Licensed as both a Funeral Director and Embalmer in the state of Virginia (or ability to reciprocate quickly)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a funeral home or mortuary setting
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a calming, confident presence
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion, patience, and professionalism
  • Willingness to take on shared on-call responsibilities (rotating schedule)
  • Strong organizational skills and comfort with funeral management systems (we use digital tools!)

Why Join Us?

  • Competitive compensation and benefits
  • Supportive team culture that values work-life balance and personal growth
  • Modern facilities with a warm, welcoming atmosphere
  • Opportunities to contribute new ideas and truly make a difference in the lives of the families we serve
