Family Medicine Physician Opportunity

The Family Medicine Physician is responsible for delivering comprehensive primary healthcare to both children and adults, which encompasses diagnosis, treatment, and preventive care services. This role involves engaging in the development of clinical policies, participating in quality enhancement initiatives, and collaborating with diverse teams while ensuring precise patient documentation. Candidates must possess a valid medical license, board certification, an active DEA license, and comply with health and safety regulations.

Location: 816 Middle Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15212, USA

Compensation: $200,000-$220,000, with base salary based on experience and training.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver primary medical care, including preventive services, and manage both acute and chronic illnesses within the licensed scope of practice for pediatric and adult patients.
  • Conduct physical examinations, order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging, perform necessary medical procedures, prescribe medications, and refer patients to specialists as needed.
  • Ensure that all medical care aligns with regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards, including adherence to clinical policies and quality initiatives.
  • Contribute to the review and formulation of clinical policies, protocols, and standing orders.
  • Actively participate in compliance and quality improvement efforts, including peer reviews, patient-centered medical home initiatives, UDS reporting, PDSA cycles, SOAP notes, and other value-based care projects.
  • Attend all scheduled provider and staff meetings and training sessions unless excused by the Chief Medical Officer.
  • Maintain accuracy, timeliness, and confidentiality in patient electronic documentation as per contractual obligations.
  • Conduct all assigned clinic shifts in person at designated locations (Northview Heights and/or Middle Street offices) and complete virtual visits as necessary.
  • Foster positive relationships and collaboration with all health center personnel.
  • Meet professional standards regarding attendance, appearance, communication, and overall professionalism.
  • Train, mentor, and supervise students, trainees, and mid-level providers as assigned.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Identify barriers to self-management plans and goal achievement.
  • Consistently apply universal precautions.
  • Potential exposure to biohazardous materials.
  • Engage in prolonged sitting and/or standing and movement throughout the workday.
  • Willingness to participate in at least 2 hours of community outreach annually.
  • Arrive punctually and be prepared to engage in clinic care at the start of each session.
  • Participate in morning patient care huddles, which may take place up to 10 minutes before patient care hours.
  • Comfortable working within a faith-based mission to provide care to all individuals without judgment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Proficient in computer applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Possess the necessary skills and abilities to provide medical care effectively.
  • Exhibit strong problem-solving skills to enhance patient and staff experiences.
  • Capable of using computers for data entry and information retrieval.

QUALIFICATIONS (Required for Employment)

  • M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited institution.
  • Licensed to practice medicine in Pennsylvania.
  • Maintains required CME credits relevant to the specialty.
  • Board-certified or board-eligible.
  • Active DEA license is mandatory.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) provider card.
  • Clearances: Act 33, 34, 73.
  • Annual COVID vaccination is encouraged.
  • Annual influenza vaccination is required.
  • Must provide proof of (within 14 days of hire): PPD, Tdap, Hepatitis B immunity, MMR immunity, and varicella immunity.
  • Complete self-attestation of fitness for duty.
