Family Medicine - Physician Position Overview

The Medical Director at our health center is responsible for guiding clinical personnel, overseeing operational and administrative tasks, and maintaining a weekly clinical practice of 24 hours in family medicine. Key duties encompass staff recruitment, supervision, quality enhancement, budgeting, strategic planning, and facilitating practice transformation within a community health environment. Candidates must possess an MD or DO with board certification, relevant experience in primary care and clinical management, and will benefit from malpractice insurance, a CME stipend, and loan repayment options.

SITE MEDICAL DIRECTOR

Our organization is in search of a Medical Director to lead our clinical team while also engaging in a 24-hour weekly clinical practice. The health center is situated in the Dorchester area of Boston.

Responsibilities include recruiting, supervising, and assessing all primary care providers and specialists, focusing on clinical care improvement, patient access, staffing, utilization management, and patient scheduling. The Medical Director will assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring quality improvement and compliance initiatives, as well as budgeting and strategic planning. This role presents an exceptional opportunity to provide administrative leadership and direction for the clinical, operational, and educational aspects of our health center. The Medical Director will play a prominent role in practice transformation and the ongoing implementation of a medical home model, actively participating in innovative changes to our healthcare delivery system.

Requirements:

  1. Possession of a current MA MD/DO License, with a strong preference for Family Physicians, Board Certified, and completion of an accredited residency program.
  2. A minimum of 5 years of primary care experience is required, with a preference for experience in a community health setting, along with administrative, supervisory, and management experience of clinical staff, including budgeting knowledge.
