Facilities Engineer
Responsibilities
The Facilities Engineer is responsible for supporting facility operations, maintenance activities, and equipment improvements across the organization. This role works as part of a Facilities and Maintenance team that ensures the reliability, performance, and safety of building systems, development manufacturing processes, and testing facilities. The Facilities Engineer supports new equipment installations, facility upgrades, process rearrangements, and serves as a technical resource for onsite maintenance teams and contracted service providers.

Key Responsibilities
Supports maintenance of facility systems, development manufacturing processes, and testing areas to ensure safe and reliable operation.
Implements projects to upgrade existing equipment, utilities, and facility infrastructure.
Coordinates and supports facility and process rearrangements to optimize operations and improve workflow.
Assists with the selection, procurement, and installation of new equipment that supports daily research and operational needs.
Serves as a technical resource for onsite maintenance teams and external service contractors.
Maintains documentation and supports continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment performance and facility reliability.
Provides engineering support for troubleshooting facility and equipment issues.
Ensures compliance with safety, regulatory, and environmental requirements.
Supports capital project activities, planning, and budgeting as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned to support the Facilities and Maintenance organization.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering, or Engineering Technology
1–3 years of experience in a facilities engineering role
Internship, co-op, or prior work experience in a manufacturing environment
Willingness to travel up to 10%
Legally authorized to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship available)
Ability to maintain compliance with export-control requirements
Preferred Qualifications
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Knowledge of building systems, utilities, and safety regulations
Experience managing multiple projects and competing priorities
Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
Experience with CMMS systems, preventive maintenance programs, and spare parts management
Experience with facility budgeting, capital planning, and project coordination
Experience working with external contractors and ensuring compliance with facility safety requirements
