CarMax is now hiring Automotive Technicians! Automotive Technicians repair and recondition cars to meet CarMax’s high standards. They diagnose, fix, and prepare vehicles for customers, including repairing engines, adjusting steering and suspension, and checking brakes. Technicians work in a skilled team environment with modern, climate-controlled facilities. Responsibilities include inspecting, reconditioning, and repairing vehicles to ensure customer safety and satisfaction, solving technical problems quickly, building experience across a wide range of vehicles, and maintaining high standards of safety, cleanliness, and organization. The role requires motivation, teamwork, and the ability to meet deadlines. CarMax supports associates with equipment, feedback, and training for skill development and accreditations. Qualifications include experience in engine repair, steering and suspension, brakes, heating and air conditioning, knowledge of health and safety compliance, manual dexterity, physical stamina, multitasking ability, good communication skills, a valid driver’s license, and ASE Certifications as required by state/local law, especially in California for Certified and Master Certified Technicians.
