Electrical Systems Engineer – Job Description

Location: Atlanta, GA (On-Site)

Position Overview:

StethX is seeking a motivated engineer to join our vibrant startup team in Atlanta, GA. The Electrical Systems Engineer will interface with a fast-paced R&D team supporting design, development, characterization, validation testing, and report writing. As a StethX team member, you will be joining us in an entrepreneurial and collaborative environment to develop the next-generation MEMS (micro-electro-mechanical systems) inertial and acoustic sensors for medical and defense applications. Position Responsibilities:

Design, test and characterization of embedded systems for sensor applications. Perform characterization and design validation by testing MEMS devices, ASICs, including sample screening, microscope imaging, measurements, and creating summary reports. The intended tasks and duties include:

  • Test and characterization of MEMS and ASIC components
  • Embedded system design (microcontrollers)
  • Develop Test and data acquisition methods for product evaluation
  • Perform product testing and documentation
  • Provide direct oral and written communication regarding activities
  • Work independently and collaboratively
  • Design and layout of PCB boards

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering 
  • Minimum of 3 years experience working with bench electronics (Required)
    • In a microelectronics test environment (Preferred)
  • Experience with manual board rework and soldering techniques required
  • Experience with LabView, Matlab, Python, C++ and/or Visual Basic
  • PCB layout and design
  • Experience with electrical characterization techniques (CV, impedance measurements, etc.) preferred
  • Analog IC design experience (tapeout to bring up) preferred
  • Experience with operating oscilloscopes, network analyzers and spectrum analyzers
  • Experience in using probe stations and wirebonding preferred
  • MEMS and semiconductor device test experience is desirable
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (especially PowerPoint and Excel) required
