Job Summary

Install, test, inspect, maintain, and repair electric lights, power distribution circuits, controls and appliances throughout Orlando Health facilities, ensuring compliance with all codes and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Engineering staff as required.
• Order necessary stock and perform emergency repairs without prior approval.
• Receive work orders and coordinate work to fit schedule as assigned by Lead Electrician.
• Estimate time and materials required for work orders.
• Maintain facility power distribution systems, mechanical alarm and medical gas alarm systems.
• Repair electric motors, controllers and other auxiliary electrical devices.
• Install new wiring and electrical machinery.
• Work from prints and diagrams to determine layout, location and specifications of items to install.
• Bend and install conduit.
• Install concealed wiring and isolate and repair defective circuits as required.
• Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition following prescribed safety regulations.
• Assist the fire alarm testing company as needed to maintain facility fire alarm system.
• Report any defective materials, faulty equipment or engineering errors on drawings or specifications to Lead Electrician, Chief Engineer or department Manager.
• Maintain the facilitys electrical distribution systems according to national, state and local electrical codes and facility regulatory agencies.
• Maintain reasonable regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
• Maintain compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
• Maintain professional appearance at all times.
• Participate in scheduled department meetings.
• Maintain the confidentiality and security of all data and information relating to the facility, medical staff and patients.
• Abide by all relevant facility policies and procedures.
• Undergo training in blood?borne pathogens, fire safety, right?to?know, chemical hygiene and infection control.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

Education/Training: High school graduate or equivalent.

• Journeyman Electrician license: issued by the State of Florida or Orange County renewed biannually.
• Valid Florida drivers license: with no more than six (6) points, at least 21 years of age, and insurable under the Orlando Health insurance carriers requirements and standards.

Experience: Four (4) years experience as an Electrician or Electricians Helper.
