Job Description

General Shale, Inc., the nation's leading manufacturer of brick and masonry products, is seeking a Cost Accountant to join our accounting team in Augusta, GA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing and reporting costs to support strategic decision-making. This role plays a key part in budgeting, inventory valuation, and cost control efforts.

Responsibilities will include:

• Work closely with sales managers and plant locations to analyze production and sales variances.
• Assist with annual forecasting and budget preparation.
• Prepare cost estimates.
• Monitor transactions and ensure accurate reporting.
• Participating in additional projects as necessary.

Position requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related curriculum.
• 1-5 years of manufacturing cost accounting or SAP FI/CO experience with emphasis in production cost analysis and some sales/distribution accounting.
• Computer proficiency (particularly with Excel)
• Attention to detail, strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to multi-task and work in a deadline driven environment.
