Job Description

Sound + Fury is a brewery, bar, restaurant and event space, located in the heart of Downtown Brooklyn. We are currently looking for part-time (Fri-Sat) bartender to join our expanding and evolving team, with potential to grow into future roles for the right candidate.

Bartenders here at Sound + Fury are a key part of our team and should have a keen interest and a desire to learn about the craft beer industry. Bar experience is essential and cocktail knowledge is preferred.

We value those who are willing and comfortable to be able to learn and discuss our beer with customers. As a member of our staff you are committing to providing friendly customer service in a welcoming neighborhood atmosphere, with an emphasis on providing a quality and positive customer experience.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of craft beer
  • Interest in continued professional development
  • Cocktail service experience preferred but not required
  • A strong commitment to excellent customer service
  • Self-motivated team member who can show initiative to assist others as needed
  • Night and weekend availability
  • Reliable and dependable work ethic, communication and follow through

Duties Include

  • The safe and responsible service of beer and alcohol
  • Continuous up-to-date awareness of beer, wine and spirits, as well as new developments with the brewery and brand
  • Bartending private events in our 6000sq ft bar and restaurant
  • Maintaining a clean bar and clean stations throughout service
  • Educating the customer craft beers made in house
  • Exhibiting a friendly disposition while providing exquisite customer service
  • Maintaining good verbal communication to management and staff during service
  • Accurate and responsible handling of credit card and cash transactions.
  • Carrying out all of our standards of practices (opening, closing and during service)
  • Comfortable with basic bar and garnish prep
  • End of night cash out and distribution of cash tips
  • A willingness to be flexible about schedule when necessary
