The Department of Psychology and Behavioral Sciences at Louisiana Tech University invites applications for a tenure-track position in the Department of Psychology and Behavioral Sciences to begin Fall 2025. Specific courses taught will depend on the successful applicant’s expertise and departmental needs, but may include psychometrics, motivation, leadership, experimental, and cognitive and UX courses. The successful candidate will contribute to the department’s growing interdisciplinary collaborations with STEM disciplines on campus. The appointment will be 100% time over the nine-month academic year (September to late May). Salary and start-up packages are competitive. Requirements of the position include: Applicants should hold a doctorate in a psychology subfield (area of specialty is open; however, preference will be given to candidates in Counseling Psychology, Industrial-Organizational Psychology, or Cognitive Psychology and related disciplines) by the time of hire (current ABDs are encouraged to apply); Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the candidate’s areas of research and expertise; Aptitude for advising undergraduate psychology majors and/or doctoral and master’s students in Counseling Psychology, Counseling and Guidance, and/or Industrial-Organizational Psychology. Candidates will be evaluated according to the overall quality of their academic preparation and scholarly work, evidence of research ability, the ability to make an interdisciplinary contribution to the University’s research mission, commitment to high-quality classroom instruction and student mentoring, and the strength of recommendations. Applicants are asked to submit a current curriculum vitae, cover letter, statements describing their line of research as well as their philosophy on teaching, and names and contact information for three references. The department is dynamic, future-oriented, and congenial with 12 full-time faculty, offering BA, MA, and PhD degrees in various psychology disciplines.
