Assistant Housekeeping Director

Create a Clean and Comfortable Environment for Pomeroy Living Residents, Staff and Visitors!
Pomeroy Living is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Housekeeping Director to join our team. You will play a vital role in maintaining a safe, sanitary, and comfortable living environment for our residents, staff, and visitors.
Responsibilities:
  • Cleaning & Sanitation:
    • Perform daily cleaning tasks, including dusting, dry mopping, wet mopping, sanitizing, and scrubbing assigned resident rooms, bathrooms, and common areas.
    • Clean walls, ceilings, windows, mirrors, and waxed floors according to department procedures and cleaning schedules.
    • Properly dispose of trash and waste, including biohazard waste and other materials requiring special handling.
  • Leadership & Support:
    • Manage and direct housekeeping and laundry tasks in the absence of the Housekeeping Director.
    • Assist with the recruitment, hiring, and training of new housekeeping and laundry staff.
    • Assist with the scheduling of housekeeping and laundry staff to ensure adequate coverage.
    • Assist the Housekeeping and Laundry Director with ordering supplies and managing the department budget.
  • Resident Care & Confidentiality:
    • Respect resident rights and maintain confidential resident information.
Qualifications:
  • Ability to pass a 50-pound lift test.
  • Prior housekeeping and/or laundry experience in a facility setting (e.g., healthcare, hospitality).
  • Strong customer service skills and a positive attitude.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Desire to grow into a leadership role at Pomeroy Living.
