The Denver International Airport Field Maintenance team is looking for an Airport Maintenance Tech. This position with the Field Maintenance Division performs semi-skilled general labor of grounds, roadway, taxiway, and runway maintenance under the supervisor of Airport Field Technician Supervisors. The Airport Maintenance Technician is an entry level classification with progressive levels of experience and responsibility. The employees in this series (located at Denver International Airport) operate in the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Air Operations Area (AOA) which requires additional levels of security background checks and airfield driving certifications. Additionally, employees in this series perform maintenance services that must meet the unique compliance requirements of federal rules, regulations, and policies associated with airfield maintenance such as CFR Part 139 and FAA Advisory Circular 150/5380-6C. Key responsibilities include participating in 12-hour rotating shifts for airfield snow removal duties and operating large, complex specialized industrial equipment, responding to after-hours or emergency calls, performing work in trades areas including welding, linear construction, maintenance operating specialized hand and power tools, installing and repairing roadway structures, assisting with repair of airfield asphalt and concrete surfaces, vegetation management, barricades and signage installation, responding to airfield emergencies, sweeping and power washing structures and tunnels, and other related duties in all weather conditions. The role requires knowledge of CFR Part 139 rules/regulations, FAA Advisory Circulars, airport emergency response procedures, machines and tools, materials and methods for construction and maintenance, and paint and protective coating application. Minimum qualifications include high school graduation or equivalent, one year of experience in construction, mechanical, or maintenance duties, a valid Driver's License, current DOT physical certification, Airport ID badge, and LAR driving privileges. Licenses and certifications must be kept current. FBI background check and possible pre-employment physical/drug test are required. The position is on-site at Denver International Airport with shifts including day, swing, and graveyard shifts, and participation in mandatory snow removal duties.
